Craft3 is a non-profit community development financial institution with a mission to strengthen economic, ecological and family resilience in Pacific Northwest communities. We do this by providing loans to entrepreneurs, nonprofits, individuals and others who don’t normally have access to financing. We then complement these financial resources with our expertise, networks and other advocacy for our clients. Learn more about our business strategy.
Most importantly, we pride ourselves on creating oversized outcomes from our limited resources. For examples, read our Stories of Change.
Craft3 is a certified nonprofit CDFI created in 1995. We started in the rural coastal community of Ilwaco, Washington. We have grown to have offices in Seattle and Port Angeles, Washington and in Bend, Astoria and Portland, Oregon. Craft3 is growing into a regional institution supporting long-term, place-based strategies that link rural and urban communities of the Pacific Northwest.
Craft3 offers an array of capital products including business, real estate, community development, consumer, and micro loans combined with technical assistance. However, we are unusual among CDFIs because our mission encompasses the "three bottom lines” of economic, environmental and social equity. Craft3 was founded on the belief that these three concerns are interconnected and cannot be successfully addressed as isolated problems. After 15 years of working across the “silos” of economic development, environmental sustainability, and social equity, we have developed a unique breadth of knowledge and organizational competencies. This expertise constitutes Craft3’s competitive advantage, enabling us to formulate innovative solutions to varied problems confronting urban and rural communities.
