Walt Postlewait, EVP
Chief Lending Officer
Walt is a Craft3 EVP and Chief Lending Officer overseeing commercial lending functions. He brings a multi-dimensional background to the CLO position as he has experience in traditional commercial lending, and now the world of CDFI lending. Blending these two backgrounds will bring a slightly different approach to the CLO role than what is present in most other CDFIs.
Prior to joining the Craft3 team in January 2010, Postlewait was Vice President and Commercial Lending Officer for Bank of Astoria in Astoria, OR since 2003. Prior to Bank of Astoria, Postlewait was a Commercial Lending Officer for MBank in Gresham, OR and relocated to Astoria from the Portland, OR Metro Area to accept the position with Bank of Astoria. Previous to joining the community bank lending ranks with MBank in 2000, Postlewait was employed with Bank of America, primarily within branch operations, from 1991 through 1998. During the interim between Bank of America and MBank, efforts were primarily focused on business consulting for the private sector.
Postlewait received his Bachelor’s of Science in Political Science from the University of Oregon. Also obtain from the University of Oregon was the completion of the Journalism School’s requirements for a degree in Public Relations. Postlewait is also a graduate of the Northwest Intermediate Banking School.
Postlewait has been active in the community with participation on a number of boards and committees including the Columbia Memorial Hospital Foundation and Clatsop Community College.
Craft3 is a nonprofit community development financial institution (CDFI) with a mission to strengthen economic, ecological and family resilience in Pacific Northwest communities. We do this by providing loans to entrepreneurs, nonprofits, individuals and others, including those who don’t normally have access to financing. We then complement these financial resources with our expertise, personal connections and other advocacy for our clients.
