“I don't come from a financial background, so learning about how CDFIs work and about the lending process through my co-workers' stories has been immensely helpful. Everyone is so passionate and excited and proud of the work they do. That feels really special.”

As a transplant who moved from Maryland to Oregon, Jennifer Huang feels there is so much for them to learn about Oregon and the Pacific NW. Working at Craft3 as a Marketing Program Coordinator feels like another way to be more connected to the region. In particular, Jennifer writes content and helps with the marketing strategy for BuildUp Oregon, a project that collaborates with three other CDFIs to provide financial support to child care providers and facilities in Oregon.

“As a writer, I care deeply about words and how they can be used to produce meaning and feeling. I feel proud when I'm able to flex my skills and write something that hits the exact right note.”

The child of Taiwanese immigrants, Jennifer feels that community and their strong connection to it has been a driving force in their life. They are enthusiastic about Craft3’s mission of community development and investing in the Pacific NW to make a substantial difference.

Jennifer joined Craft3 in 2024.They have a background in writing, publishing and organic farming. Wherever the setting, Jennifer engages directly with the land and people by volunteering at local organizations and enjoying outdoor activities.
