It is with humility and gratitude that Craft3 today shared the news that we have received a $15 million unrestricted gift from MacKenzie Scott through her charitable organization, Yield Giving.

“This generous gift from MacKenzie Scott is an affirmation of Craft3’s mission to build a thriving, just, and empowered Pacific Northwest. Our entire team is humbled and grateful,” said Bruce Brooks, President and Interim CEO. “We look forward to leveraging this support, along with what we gratefully receive from many other sources, all important regardless of size, to better serve communities across Oregon and Washington. As a community, we are committed to helping them thrive and be more just and empowered each tomorrow than they were the day before.”

Craft3 is thankful for the generous support of more than 150 funders who collectively are expanding the breadth and depth of what the organization can achieve together in service to our customers and communities.

This is our second such award from MacKenzie Scott. In December 2020, we received a $10 million gift. Since then, Craft3 has leveraged the support of our entire funder community to:

  • Invest more than $200 million, creating thousands of jobs in PNW communities.
  • Reimagine our loan application and underwriting to be more equitable, contributing to a 63% increase in dollars leant to entrepreneurs of color over three years.
  • Launch person-centered, trauma-informed, bilingual (Spanish) one-on-one coaching and technical assistance under new Business Services program, which has served more than 100 clients since mid-2021.
  • Help thousands of homeowners replace failing septic systems, resulting in the treatment of more than 445 million gallons of wastewater annually.

Over the coming weeks, our Leadership Committee will begin conversations about how to best leverage Ms. Scott’s generosity and maximize its impact on our communities.
